Plant and Animal Adaptations
Dispite the fact that the Great Victoria Desert is a harsh place to live in, animals and plants still live there. Some Plants found here are : Mallee, Black Desert Oak, Marble Gums, Spinifex, Grevillieas, Aciac, Parakeelya, Lechenaultia, Hibbertia and Wildflowers. All these plants are used to the dry , arid climate of the Great Victoria Desert, otherwise they would not be able to survive. Some animals that live in the Great Victoria Desert are: Rock Wallabies, Parrots, Snakes, Wild Camels, Lizards, Small Birds, Wedge Tailed Eagles, Dingeos and Bilbies. These animals have also adapted to survive in extreme heat and extreme cold.

This is a Mallee tree. It has a special adaptation to live in the Great Victoria Desert. Instead of growing with only one trunk, the Mallee has lots of different trunks to presearve water.
